AMBITIOUS League Two outfit Luton Town could be set to hijack Blackpool’s bid to sign Cherries winger Harry Cornick.

Poole-born Cornick is understood to have held talks with both clubs regarding the possibility of a permanent move.

It is believed he was given permission to speak to them after a nominal fee had been agreed.

And having met officials from both clubs, Cornick looks likely to opt for the Hatters – who are favourites to win League Two following their 8-2 drubbing of Yeovil on the opening day of the season.

Cornick joined Cherries from Wessex League Christchurch following a successful trial in 2013.

The 22-year-old has made one substitute appearance for the first team, coming on in a 5-1 win at Rotherham in the third round of the FA Cup in January 2015.

Cornick, who came off the bench in the pre-season friendly against Valencia nine days ago, had loan spells at Welling, Aldershot and Havant & Waterlooville during the early stages of his Cherries career.

He played 42 games and netted eight times during a season-long loan at Yeovil in 2015-16 before having temporary spells at Leyton Orient and Gillingham last season.

Cornick and Cherries team-mate Joe Quigley joined Gillingham in a double loan swoop in January and helped the Kent outfit preserve their League One status.

Striker Quigley, who is also understood to have held talks with Blackpool, remains a target for the Tangerines, while Wycombe and Hibernian are also showing interest.

Meanwhile, Cherries winger Jordan Green is set to train with Yeovil as he bids to stake a claim for a contract with the League Two outfit.
