CHERRIES left-back Charlie Daniels believes his playing career will last at least another five years.

The 30-year-old has been one of the shining lights of the Dorset club's elevation from League One to the top half of the Premier League.

And the former Tottenham youngster, who featured in 34 of Cherries' 38 top-flight games last season, is planning to delay his playing retirement for as long as he can.

He told the Daily Echo: "I don't feel 30, I feel 25. I still feel I've got many more years ahead of me yet.

"It's definitely down to working on the fitness side of things with people at the club. That has helped me and I'm feeling the benefits.

"I feel sure I have a good few years left in me yet. I could do four or five more quite comfortably and, potentially, more than that. I feel I have at least five years left in me.

"I think people take it for granted when they stop too suddenly and I just want to play for as long as I physically can, or until I don't like it any more, which I don't think will happen."

A bargain £175,000 buy from Leyton Orient in January 2012, Daniels made his 200th appearance for Cherries against Stoke in May.
