CHERRIES are reported to be in talks with West Bromwich over a deal that will allow defender Marc Wilson to complete a permanent switch to the Hawthorns.

Wilson joined the Baggies on loan on the final day of the January transfer window and subsequently started three Premier League matches for Tony Pulis's side.

His final appearance for Cherries came in the FA Cup third-round exit at Millwall on January 7 – albeit he was forced to limp off late in the game after suffering a hamstring injury.

The 29-year-old scored on his debut in a 2-1 EFL Cup win at Morecambe last August, and played the first half of the defeat by Preston in the same competition the following month.

Wilson was signed from Stoke in a £2million deal but after moving to Albion claimed he had not been "too suited to the environment" at Cherries.

He played under Pulis for three years at Stoke and the Albion boss is a confirmed admirer of the Republic of Ireland international.

And former Cherries manager Pulis could be close to getting his man, with Sky Sports suggesting the two Premier League clubs are locked in negotiations over a £1million transfer for the player.
