BRANDON Goodship has become the third former Cherries youngster to sign on at Southern Premier Weymouth this summer.

Striker Goodship left Vitality Stadium for Yeovil Town in January after having his Cherries contract cancelled by mutual consent.

Nevertheless, he made only eight appearances for the League Two team, seven of those from the bench, and has now penned a one-year deal with the Terras.

Goodship joins Callum Buckley and Jake McCarthy at the Bob Lucas Stadium after boss Mark Molesley quickly snapped up the young duo following their release from Cherries last month.

Goodship spent the opening months of the 2016-17 season on loan with National League team Braintree Town.

After joining Cherries as a 12-year-old and progressing through the academy he had temporary stints with Blackfield & Langley, Dorchester and Hayes & Yeading.

Goodship made his Football League debut on loan with Yeovil in February last year, when he appeared as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Portsmouth.

The 22-year-old played 10 games during his spell with the Glovers in 2015-16, scoring one goal – in a 1-0 victory at Dagenham & Redbridge on only his second start.
