CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe has been shortlisted for the Barclays manager-of-the-season award.

Howe is one of six Premier League bosses to have been nominated.

He is up against former Cherries boss Tony Pulis, now at West Brom, Swansea’s Paul Clement, Chelsea’s title-winning manager Antonio Conte, Sean Dyche of Burnley and Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino.

The deadline for casting votes is 23.59 on Wednesday, with the public vote combined with those of a panel of football experts to determine the winner.

Howe, 39, has this season steered Cherries to their highest position in history, with the club currently 10th and in contention to finish in the top half.

He has also ensured he will improve the club’s finishing league position for the sixth time in succession since he first took the reins in 2009.

Howe guided Cherries to the Premier League for the first time in their history in 2015 and beat then-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to the League Managers’ Association manager-of-the year award.

Mourinho was named Premier League manager of the year after winning the title, while Howe was also crowned LMA Championship manager of the year.

Howe won the Premier League manager-of-the-month award for March after presiding over 10-man Cherries’ 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford and back-to-back home wins over West Ham and Swansea.
