JUNIOR Stanislas admits Cherries' clash with Burnley is the first match he looks for in the fixture calendar and insists he has "nothing to prove" to his former club.

Stanislas sacrificed life in the Premier League when he snubbed a fresh contract offer at newly promoted Burnley in 2014 in favour of a free transfer switch to Dean Court.

The winger's brave decision to follow his old Turf Moor boss Eddie Howe to Cherries has paid dividends for him and his club. He had started only seven matches as Burnley escaped the Championship in 2014.

And although he was lightly run as Cherries followed in Burnley's stead 12 months later, he can now reflect on 40 Premier League appearances – 33 of them starts, the latest against Stoke in last week's 2-2 draw, when he scored his fifth goal of the campaign.

That result secured Cherries' Premier League status while Burnley, with 40 points, are on the cusp of safety.

Ahead of the Clarets' visit to Vitality Stadium tomorrow (3pm) Stanislas told the Daily Echo: "Burnley is definitely the first match I look for, I won’t lie about that.

"I want to play in that game, play well and get a result.

"I don’t think I have anything to prove to them. They offered me a deal to stay there and I turned it down... so, no, I haven’t got anything to prove.

"But when you play against your old teams you always want to do well and it is no different for me with Burnley.

"To be honest, I don’t really care too much about them. It is all about us. I am a Bournemouth player now, we have done well in the past couple of seasons and we want to get as many points as we can in these last two games to finish in the top half of the table.

"Then, hopefully, we can go into next season and improve again."
