UNDER-18s boss Carl Fletcher described as 'fitting' the Youth Alliance Cup triumph which handed Cherries a memorable double.
Already Merit League Two champions, Cherries fought back from a goal down to defeat Wigan 4-2 at DW Stadium.
Nathan Randell put the hosts in front but Kyle Taylor, Antonio Diaz and Nnamdi Ofoborh turned the contest round.
Callum Lang pulled a goal back for the Latics before a superb solo effort from Taylor rounded off the scoring.
Fletcher told the club website: “I emphasised before the game that I wanted players who could deal with pressure and perform in the big games.
“I’m really pleased for the lads, they are a young group with a lot of first years and under-16s playing.
“With the journey that they’ve been on, it’s fitting it should end with winning the cup.”
Cherries: Dennis, Gilella, Sherring, Camp, York, Seaman, Ofoborh, Taylor, Diaz, Jake, Anthony. Substitutes: Boote, Glover, Clements, Nippard, Ward (g/k).
