CHERRIES under-21 boss Mark Molesley hailed "constant pest" Sam Surridge after the striker's hat-trick helped down Peterborough United 4-1 yesterday.

Mikael Ndjoli, who was deployed wide on the right, completed the scoring for Cherries in the Central League contest at Canford Arena.

Molesley told the Daily Echo: "Sam Surridge is a real handful. He scored a hat-trick but could have had more and he is a constant pest.

"Now he is training with the first team, he is really starting to flourish.

"Mikael is a forward capable of playing on the right. We spoke with him at half-time about trying to improve on a couple of things and he went back out and proved a point."

Surridge struck from the penalty spot on 35 minutes following Morgan Penfold's trip on Keelan O'Connell.

Earlier, Cherries goalkeeper Ryan Allsop had saved brilliantly down to his right from Posh attacker Paul Taylor's spot-kick.

Brad Inman levelled four minutes before half-time but Surridge converted two Ndjoli crosses – with his head on 63 minutes and a tap-in five minutes later – to put Cherries in control.

And in the 90th minute, Ndjoli fired in after Archie Matthews' original shot had been blocked on the line.

Cherries: Allsop, York, Hobson, Sherring, Diaz (Seaman, 65), McCarthy, Ndjoli, Thomas, Taylor (Ofoborh, 69), O'Connell (Boote, 86), Surridge (Kilkenny, 83).
