MARC Wilson admitted he had not been "too suited to the environment" at Cherries.
The 29-year-old last month joined West Brom on loan until the end of the season after just three outings in a Cherries shirt this term.
Signed by Eddie Howe from Stoke in the summer, versatile defender Wilson has not made a Premier League appearance in more than a year.
That was due in part to a serious knee injury sustained 13 months ago. But apart from a hamstring twinge, the Ireland international has been fit this season.
And Wilson feels his temporary switch to West Brom has been positive for his career.
Although he is yet to make an appearance for his loan club, Wilson said: “I’m really enjoying it. It’s almost given me a new lease of life.
"Before, I was training but I wasn’t involved so my head was down a little bit. I don’t think I was too suited to the environment down there.
“Now that I’ve come up here, I feel brand new again. I’ve got back into the swing of things pretty quickly and I'm feeling a lot fitter, probably the fittest I’ve felt for quite a while."
Wilson was speaking to the Express & Star.
