CHERRIES got down to some hard work at their Spanish training camp – but not until after they had enjoyed a Champions League night.

Having jetted in on Wednesday, Eddie Howe's players took in Real Madrid's 3-1 victory over Napoli in the first leg of the teams' last-16 tie at Santiago Bernabeu.

And the experience went down well with defender Charlie Daniels and his colleagues.

"It was great to watch a Champions League game and there were a few goals as well," said Daniels.

"You can learn so much watching the best players."

Cherries are training at Ciudad Real Madrid for the duration of their three-day camp, the plush training ground of the La Liga outfit.

Translated as Real Madrid City, the 300-acre facility contains 13 pitches, gyms, medical centres and classrooms as well as Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium, the home ground of Madrid's reserves.

Daniels added: "It's a top-quality facility, as you would expect.

"We trained on it this morning and it was a really nice pitch to train on and we had a really good session

"We got a lot of work done and no doubt there will be a lot more work to be done tomorrow as well."
