CHERRIES striker Brandon Goodship is understood to be close to finalising a permanent move to League Two outfit Yeovil Town.

Goodship made 10 appearances during a loan spell with the Glovers last season, netting his maiden goal in the Football League during a 1-0 win at Dagenham & Redbridge in February.

The 22-year-old Poole-born frontman put an 18-month injury nightmare behind him when he made his Football League debut for Yeovil in a 1-1 draw with Portsmouth.

Raised in Corfe Mullen, Goodship, who has been with Cherries since he was 12, has also served on loan Blackfield & Langley, Dorchester, Hayes & Yeading and Braintree, playing five times for the Essex outfit in the National League in September.

Should Goodship agree terms, he could be available for Saturday’s trip to high-flying Wycombe. It is believed he would move to Huish Park on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, defender Jordan Lee, another member of Cherries’ under-21 squad, is understood to be a loan target for National League Torquay United.

Lee, who has just celebrated his 20th birthday, has made two appearances for Cherries, starting last season’s FA Cup third round clash at Birmingham and lining up in Saturday’s defeat at Millwall.

Former youth team captain Lee, who was raised and schooled in Ferndown, is expected to join the Gulls on loan until the end of the season.
