CHERRIES assistant Jason Tindall has confirmed Ryan Fraser's ankle injury is not as serious as first feared.

The flying winger was forced off during Tuesday's 3-3 draw with Arsenal at Vitality Stadium, a game in which he won a penalty and later found the net.

A scan revealed Fraser's problem would not sideline him for the long term.

Tindall said: "It's not as serious as we first thought it would be. Hopefully, we should have him back soon.

"He certainly won't be out for months. It will be an injury which will be assessed on a daily basis and, hopefully, he will be back training sooner rather than later."

Tindall confirmed Cherries were keeping a close eye on the fitness of a number of players ahead of the FA Cup third-round trip to Millwall.

Norwegian international Joshua King came off against the Gunners, while Callum Wilson is being assessed.

"We've got three or four players with knocks and we need to monitor them and be smart," said Tindall.

"It's an opportunity for them to recover and for players who have been on the fringes to perform.

"Whatever team is selected will be one which we have every confidence in and will, hopefully, get us through to the next round."
