TOTTENHAM'S Moussa Sissoko has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association following a controversial incident with Harry Arter on Saturday.

Cherries star Arter reacted furiously after Sissoko's elbow made contact with his face during the second half of the Premier League stalemate at Vitality Stadium.

Arter later revealed he had accepted an apology from the France international, who claimed the contact had been accidental.

Although referee Craig Pawson appeared to have an unimpeded view, Arter said the official had told him he had not seen the incident, which occurred just after the ball had rolled out of play.

Midfielder Sissoko, who could face a three-game ban, has until 6pm tomorrow to respond.

A Football Association statement said: "Off-the-ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite match officials.

"Each panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence.

"For retrospective action to be taken, and an FA charge to follow, the decision of the panel must be unanimous."

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said in a press conference today that the club would "accept the charge".
