HARRY Arter hailed the quality of loanee Jack Wilshere, but insisted he had no intention of giving up his shirt for the England star.

Wilshere started life at Vitality Stadium by emerging from the bench last weekend's 1-0 win over West Brom, with Arter keeping his place alongside Andrew Surman in Cherries' midfield.

Arter told the Echo: "I don't think anyone has lost their place to a player because they have thrown the towel in. Everyone has worked so hard to be here.

"I've worked from the lowest league you can be in to be here. So, for me, I thrive on added pressure and personally believe it has made me become the player I have become today. Every year the manager has brought in better players and up until now I have found myself in the team and that is what I intend to keep doing.

"It was a surprise seeing Jack come in. When he is fit I think he is one of the top midfielders in the world, I honestly do. I think he is an unbelievable footballer. For him to be at Bournemouth is great for everyone. It is great for the supporters, great for the players and I believe he will take us onto the next level. Every player is looking forward to working with him, myself included in that."
