EDDIE Howe believes Cherries star Tyrone Mings will emerge a better player following his injury nightmare, insisting: "He's grown from the experience."

Defender Mings yesterday returned to full training for the first time since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament almost 12 months ago.

The 23-year-old, an £8million buy from Ipswich Town last summer, sustained the injury minutes into his Premier League debut against Leicester City.

Howe last week stated that he expected Mings to be up to full fitness and available for selection by the end of next month.

And the Vitality Stadium boss feels former Chippenham Town ace Mings has an exciting future ahead.

Howe said: “I’ve been really impressed by Tyrone in pre-season.

“He’s been in and around the group and has been a really positive influence around the players. He’s worked incredibly hard during his rehab and has been disciplined. I think he’s grown from the experience in a positive way.

“When we’ve seen him on the training pitch, he’s done very well. I’m excited about the future for him.

“Hopefully, he will get there because he deserves to.”
