CHERRIES are set to head to the United States as part of their preparations for a second season in the Premier League.

Following a successful trip to Philadelphia last year, Eddie Howe's side are due to travel to Chicago and Minnesota next month.

Cherries will jet Stateside on Sunday, July 10 and spend just over a week in Chicago before flying to Minnesota to face North American Soccer League outfit Minnesota United on Wednesday, July 20.

Kick off at National Sports Center Stadium is 7pm local time (1am BST).

Chief executive Neill Blake said: "Last year the first team travelled to Philadelphia and it proved to be incredibly beneficial.

"It's important that pre-season preparations are done correctly and we're pleased that we will be travelling to America again.

“Not only will the trip provide the squad with important time together on and off the training pitches, it will also be great to play our first game of pre-season against Minnesota United.

"It promises to be another successful trip ahead of our second season in the Premier League.”

Blake was speaking to the club website.
