CHERRIES winger Matt Ritchie is reportedly on the brink of a £12million move to Newcastle.
The Mirror reports the Magpies are "closing in" on the former Swindon wide man.
The tabloid stated Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez wanted to sign Ritchie before allowing Andros Townsend to join Crystal Palace.
The Mirror adds that Ritchie is "keen" to join the north east giants despite their relegation from the Premier League last term.
Cherries recruited Ritchie for a bargain £500,000 three years ago.
The Scotland international has been a key cog in Cherries' rise from League One.
He featured in all but one game in the Premier League last season, scoring four goals in the top flight.
