CHERRIES have appointed Anthony White as assistant goalkeeper coach.

White will come in under Neil Moss and will specialise in strength and conditioning work for the club’s team of stoppers.

He will take up his new position after leaving Oldham Athletic where he had been goalkeeper and fitness coach.

White replaced Bobby Mimms at Boundary Park two years ago and following a successful trial period, having been released as an apprentice in 2010.

The 24-year-old won a scholarship to do a degree in psychology at Rollins College in Florida and went on to become director of goalkeeping at affiliated club Orlando City.

White told the Oldham website: “It has been extremely tough to leave Oldham, a club which is more than just a place of work, but a club where I have gained so many close friends.

“Oldham was where I began playing full-time football and I was given an incredible opportunity for the past two-and-a-half years as a first-team coach.

“Without Oldham, I would not have been able to achieve the opportunity to coach in the Premier League. The chairman Simon Corney put trust in me in 2013 and his support and friendship has been a major factor in my progression.

“Tony Philliskirk has been instrumental since I was 15 in every aspect of my football and coaching life and I will be forever indebted to him.

“Finally, I would like to thank the board who have stuck by me while appointing five different managers during my tenure.

“This is an extremely close club in which people work very hard behind the scenes.

“Oldham Athletic will always be my home club, but I am humbled and honoured at this exciting opportunity at AFC Bournemouth.”

Meanwhile, Cherries are today due to release details of their home kit for next season. Shirts will be available for supporters to pre-order from June 20.
