CHERRIES ran the farthest of any team in the Premier League this season, according to EA Sports statistics.

The Dorset outfit averaged 117km per game, putting them just ahead of Tottenham (115.7) and Liverpool (112.8).

Cherries midfielder Dan Gosling covered the most ground of any top-flight player per 90 minutes but his team-mate Andrew Surman ran the most miles.

Reflecting on the campaign, Surman told the Daily Echo: “Once you step up to the Premier League, you have it all on because you’re up against quality week after week.

“Having sampled a bit of the Premier League before, there was nothing I didn’t expect. We knew we would be coming up against some of the world’s best players and would have to be at our best to beat anyone.

“Nothing came out of the blue but the lads still deserve a lot of credit for embracing the challenge of competing with everyone."
