CALLUM Wilson admitted the prospect of playing at Old Trafford had spurred him on to swiftly recover from a serious knee injury.

The Cherries striker last month returned to action after more than six months on the sidelines and is in contention to feature against Manchester United on Sunday (3pm).

And the 24-year-old revealed how the thought of turning out against the Champions League-chasing side for the first time had proved an ambition during his spell out.

Wilson, who has been to The Theatre of Dreams once as a fan but never as a player, said: "Throughout your rehab, when you see the games you are able to get back for, Old Trafford stood out for me personally.

"You always visualise scoring goals at big stadiums and what better place to score my first goal since coming back?"

Wilson added: "We are safe but we still want to end the season on a high. Man United have got something to play for so we aren't going to go there and be a pushover.

"All the players in the squad are motivated regardless of whether it is the beginning or the end of the season. Hopefully, we will go there and get a successful result."
