CHERRIES goalkeeper Ryan Allsop could be set to feature in the League Two play-offs after answering an SOS from Portsmouth, the Daily Echo understands.

Allsop is believed to have signed an emergency loan and is in the frame to line up in the first leg of Pompey’s semi-final against Plymouth tonight (7.45pm).

The 23-year-old made 18 appearances and kept seven clean sheets during a loan spell with Wycombe during the second half of the season.

His penultimate game for the Chairboys came in a 2-1 defeat by Portsmouth at Fratton Park 19 days ago.

Pompey are believed to have been given special dispensation by the Football League to draft in Allsop to cover for a goalkeeping crisis.

He is also eligible to feature in the second leg at Home Park on Sunday, although the agreement would have to be renewed should Pompey reach the final at Wembley.

Allsop has featured once in the Premier League for Cherries this season, replacing Adam Federici at half-time during the epic 3-3 draw with Everton in November.

He kept a clean sheet against the Pilgrims when he helped former loan club Coventry to a 2-0 win over the Devonians in the quarter-final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in November 2014.
