One of the members of the steering committee for the newly-formed Cherries Trust has stepped down due to health reasons.
Chris Millar’s departure came 24 hours after he had apologised through a trust statement for a social media post made on Monday.
The statement read: “The post misrepresented subtly but significantly a matter of key concern to both supporters and the club that was discussed at a recent meeting.
“Chris has accepted full responsibility for his error and has offered an unreserved apology to the steering group and those members that have shown faith in us by joining the trust already.”
Following Millar’s departure, a further trust statement read: “The steering group would like to thank Chris for his energy, enthusiasm and genuine commitment to improving things for AFC Bournemouth supporters.”
The trust plans to elect board members from its membership in the summer.
