STOKE City boss Mark Hughes revealed sitting deep had been a deliberate ploy as his side claimed a 3-1 win over Cherries today.
Speaking before he was evacuated from the press room due to a fire alarm, Hughes said: "It was a really pleasing away performance.
“We came here with a good game plan and were prepared to allow Bournemouth to come on to us a little bit.
“We conceded a little bit of possession, more than we usually do, but felt we would get good opportunities on the break.
“With the personnel we have we felt we could cause Bournemouth problems and thankfully, that was how it panned out.”
