MANAGER Eddie Howe played his cards close to his chest regarding Cherries’ goalkeeper situation when he faced the media earlier today.

Howe, speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Cherries’ visit to Chelsea tomorrow, was asked for an update on the fitness of Artur Boruc and Adam Federici.

“I think my stance this morning is not to say anything on our goalkeeper situation so we will try to leave it unknown,” said Howe.

It is believed Federici looks set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining ankle ligament damage during Cherries’ 3-3 draw against Everton six days ago.

However, the situation regarding Boruc remains unclear as Cherries prepare to face the Premier League champions at Stamford Bridge. Reports earlier this week in Poland suggested Boruc would require surgery to rectify a minor knee problem, although it was also said he may delay going under the knife.

Both Ryan Allsop and Jordan Holmes are on standby to be involved against Chelsea and look certain to travel.

Marc Pugh (Achilles) will not feature, while Harry Arter (hamstring) remains a doubt.
