EDDIE Howe believes seeing his players perform on the international stage will benefit Cherries in the Premier League.

Adam Federici (Australia) and Tokelo Rantie (South Africa) both helped their respective countries win through World Cup qualifiers during the break.

And despite being an unused substitute, Harry Arter was involved as the Republic of Ireland booked their place at next year’s European Championship finals with victory over Bosnia.

Shaun MacDonald (Wales) and Baily Cargill (England under-21s) were also on the bench for their countries during the international break.

Howe said: “I am very pleased for the individuals concerned. Naturally, our players have courted more attention and got international recognition on the back of our success over the past couple of years.

“To see them performing well for their countries and having success is great for us. To play in the Euros and World Cup would develop our players and give them really good life-changing experiences.

“Any game for your country is a huge honour for a player but it is also a huge experience. The pressures that go with the games are very similar to Premier League games and probably the one thing missing from our squad is that experience to deal with the big games.

“It is coming through time but anything which accelerates that process with some of the players will be more than welcome from my perspective.”
