REPORTS north of the border suggest Cherries are set to join the race to snap up Scotland under-21 hotshot Jason Cummings.

The 20-year-old Hibernian striker has scored 36 goals in 78 appearances at Easter Road, including 13 in 18 in all competitions so far this season.

His fine form is said to have alerted the interest of Championship quartet Brighton, Cardiff, Fulham and Rotherham.

Meanwhile, Italian newspaper Il Mattino has further fuelled reports that Jonathan de Guzman could be set for Cherries, suggesting the Napoli midfielder is ready to perform a U-turn over the switch.

Speculation surfaced during the summer transfer window that the Dutch international, formerly a League Cup winner while in the Premier League with Swansea City, had rebuffed season-long loan approaches from Sunderland and Cherries.

But de Guzman has yet to appear this season under new Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri, coincidentally the man Eddie Howe jetted out to Italy to meet over the summer while Sarri was still at the helm of Serie A club Empoli.
