CHERRIES loan signing Christian Atsu scored the opener in Ghana’s 7-1 thumping of Mauritius in today’s Africa Cup of Nations 2017 qualifier.
The 23-year-old headed home his ninth goal in 41 appearances for the Black Stars from Harrison Afful’s teasing cross with just 10 minutes on the clock.
On Saturday, Matt Ritchie played the first 45 minutes of Scotland’s 1-1 Euro 2016 qualifying draw with the Republic of Ireland in Dublin. New recruit Josh King featured for the first 79 minutes as Norway were held to a 0-0 draw by Azerbaijan.

Milivoje Novakovic gave the hosts a shock lead before Jack Wilshere responded with a brace. Nejc Pecnik levelled with five minutes to play but Wayne Rooney netted to steal the spoils.
