STRIKERS Dwight Gayle and Josh King are the latest names to be linked with Cherries according to media reports.

Sources close to the South London Press says out-of-favour Crystal Palace hitman Gayle is a target for the Dean Court club.

The 24-year-old scored 10 goals last season but found first-team opportunities to come by after Alan Pardew took charge at Selhurst Park.

Gayle has two years to run on a four-year contract having signed from Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee understood to be in the region of £4.5million in July 2013.

Sky report that Cherries are set to swoop for out-of-contract Blackburn Rovers frontrunner King.

The former Manchester United man, who suffered an injury-blighted campaign last season, would still command a fee as he is under the age 24.

King, 23, is thought to have been offered a fresh three-year deal at Ewood Park.

Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert, Birmingham winger Demarai Gray, Everton centre-half Sylvain Distin, Reading’s Jem Karacan and Burnley full-back Kieran Trippier are among those already linked with Cherries since their promotion to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has all but ruled out a move for Cherries hot shot Callum Wilson.

The 23-year-old top was the club's top scorer in their Championship title success with speculation in the national press linking him with up to 10 top-flight rivals.

When quizzed on the matter by Talksport, Wenger said: "No (we are not after him). We look at all players but we are not especially in for Callum Wilson."

  • Preparations for the Premier League have started at Dean Court with the pitch stripped ready for the installation of an under-soil heating system.

Pipes are set to be put in place during the first week of June before relaying the surface. The club also has to carry out work to meet top-flight media requirements.
