CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe has jetted out to Italy on a scouting mission at Serie A club Empoli.

Howe has been observing counterpart Maurizio Sarri, a coach who credited for his side's organised and entertaining approach at the Stadio Castellani.

Empoli won promotion from Serie B – Italian football's second flight – in 2014 and maintained their spot at the top table last season.

Sarri has been compared with respected former Italy boss Arrigo Sacchi and linked with jobs at AC Milan, Fiorentina and Sampdoria.
