EDDIE Howe was quick to scotch suggestions he had surpassed Harry Redknapp’s achievements as Cherries manager.
Redknapp, who guided Cherries to the old third division title in 1987, recently stated he felt Howe had eclipsed him.
Howe became only the second manager in the club’s history to lead them to a championship when they were crowned second-tier winners on Saturday.
Asked by the Daily Echo whether he felt he had topped Redknapp’s achievements, Howe replied: “Personally, I don’t believe that because Harry was at the club a long time and he was the one who led the club into the Championship for the first time.
“What he has done with his career after those moments with Bournemouth are incredible achievements so I always regard Harry as Bournemouth’s iconic manager and that will not change.”
