MANAGER Eddie Howe says uncertainty surrounding Cherries’ league position will have no immediate bearing on his transfer policy.

Cherries head into the final two games of an absorbing campaign not knowing whether they will be playing in the Championship or the Premier League next season.

However, despite the doubt, Howe insists the focus remains on preparing for Bolton and then Charlton rather than thinking about the summer.

Asked whether he had two different lists of targets depending on which division Cherries found themselves in next season, Howe replied: “My focus is clear. It is on the games and training. I am not really looking at transfer targets or next season at this moment in time.

“There will be a time for that and I don’t think by delaying it – if you want to call it a delay – that it will going to cost us in terms of targets and the potential recruitment that you need to do.

“We are very confident with our existing squad that we are going to be strong anyway. We have shown in previous seasons that we don’t overhaul our squad in the summers.

“We take little bits and pieces to make it stronger. It will be the same again this summer, regardless of which division we are in.”
