HARRY Cornick netted twice as Cherries chalked up a 3-0 win over Final Third Development League rivals Orient yesterday.

Cornick, who has been among the goals during his loan at Havant & Waterlooville, opened the scoring in the 51st minute.

The 20-year-old finished coolly after going clear before setting up Ben Whitfield for Cherries’ second. He doubled Cherries’ lead after fastening on to Cornick’s cut-back as Stephen Purches’s team put his old club to the sword.

Cornick, who has netted three times in six appearances for the Hawks, completed the scoring with a well-placed shot into the bottom corner.

Striker Jayden Stockley, who was facing one of his former loan clubs, thought he had given Cherries the lead, only for his first-half effort to be ruled out for offside.

Coach Purches named a strong starting line-up for Cherries’ penultimate game in the competition with Ryan Allsop, Elliott Ward, Baily Cargill and Shaun MacDonald all given run-outs.

Cherries also ran the rule over trialist JP Rylah, a young midfielder who is currently on the books at Millwall.

Cherries: Allsop, Muleba, Ward, Cargill, Lee, Cornick (Neale, 77), MacDonald, Carmichael (Worthington, 77), Rylah, Whitfield (A Coulibaly, 69), Stockley. Unused substitute: O’Flaherty (g/k).
