MATT Ritchie is not fussed whether Cherries sacrifice their fluency during the final push for promotion – provided they pouch maximum points.

The creative catalyst has called for a repeat of the the ice-cool approach which secured match-winning clean sheets in victories at Brighton and Reading.

On the mental side of churning out results under pressure, Ritchie told the Daily Echo: "It is hard to do because you know what the carrot is at the end of it but it is our job to stay as composed as possible.

"The management and staff are great with helping us keep our cool but on a match day, it is down to us to go out there with a clear, calm head.

"Our past two performances have not been typical Bournemouth displays but when you are in this position you have to win in any way possible and at the moment, we are doing that.

"The way we won at Brighton was another string to our bow and a side to our game we probably have not seen enough of this season.

"That proved we could be resolute and we followed that up at Reading. As a team we defended as if our lives depended on it, not just the back four, which showed the mentality of the group and our desire to succeed.

"The way we dealt with the high amount of balls that got knocked in our box was different class and it was a great three points."

But while Cherries seek to balance style and substance to get over the line, Ritchie insists there must be no change to the winning formula ahead of tomorrow's clash with Sheffield Wednesday (3pm).

"All season we have done the same thing, we prepare and keep our pay attention to one game at a time," he added.

"The focus has to be on recovery and ensuring everyone is right for Sheffield Wednesday, physically and mentally.

"I think the key is keeping everything as it has been all season. We have succeeded and got our rewards from hard work and doing those things all season.

"There is no reason to start changing things now and the gaffer does a great job in keeping everyone level-headed and focused."
