CHERRIES midfielder Shaun MacDonald made his first international appearance in five years as Wales wrapped up a memorable 3-0 victory in Israel.

A Gareth Bale double and a further effort from Aaron Ramsey sent Chris Coleman’s men to the top of their Euro 2016 qualifying group at the expense of their hosts.

MacDonald had made his Wales debut as a late substitute in a 4-1 defeat away to Switzerland in October 2010.

But the Swansea-born man did not feature further until today’s Group B clash in Haifa.

MacDonald was brought on in place of Ramsey in the 86th minute.

Ramsey and Real Madrid’s Bale had already put the visitors 2-0 in front with efforts either side of half-time before Eytan Tibi was dismissed for a second bookable offence.

Bale made it 3-0 with 13 minutes remaining.

Meanwhile, Cherries keeper Benji Buchel was an unused substitute as Liechtenstein suffered a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of visitors Austria on Friday.

Goals from Martin Harnik, Marc Janko, David Alaba, Zlatko Junuzovic and Marko Arnautovic gave the Group G leaders a comfortable win in Vaduz.

Cherries quartet Harry Arter, Artur Boruc, Matt Ritchie and Tokelo Rantie are in contention to feature on the senior international stage tomorrow.

Defender Baily Cargill could line up for England under-20s against the United States.
