KEVIN O’Connor is set to line up for Cherries in tomorrow’s Final Third Development League clash at Gillingham after joining the Dorset club on trial.
Teenager O’Connor, who is on the books of League of Ireland outfit Waterford United, will spend the week training with Stephen Purches’s development squad.
The versatile 19-year-old can operate at left-back and in central midfield and was on trial with Premier League Hull City last month.
County Wexford-born O’Connor, capped at under-17 level by the Republic of Ireland, made 22 appearances for Waterford in each of the past two seasons.
He will be handed a chance to impress when Cherries face Gillingham at their Beechings Cross training ground (1pm kick-off).
Cherries: (from) Holmes, O’Flaherty, Muleba, Lee, Addison, Simpson, Kaye, M Coulibaly, A Coulibaly, Matthews, Walsh, Whitfield, O’Hanlon, O’Connor.
