CHERRIES star Marc Pugh has sent a good luck message to Scott Mitchell on the eve of his appearance in the BDO World Championship final.

Darts fanatic Pugh says he will be glued to his television and rooting for Mitchell when he faces-off against three-times winner Martin Adams at Lakeside tomorrow.

Bransgore-based farmer Mitchell, who is a keen Cherries follower and avid supporter of Poole Pirates, often exchanges tweets with Pugh on social network site Twitter.

England international Mitchell, 44, today stormed into the final when he brushed aside Canadian qualifier Jeff Smith 6-0 to guarantee himself at least £35,000 in prize money – with the winner pocketing £100,000.

Speaking to the Daily Echo following Cherries’ defeat by Norwich today, Pugh, a regular visitor to the BIC for the PDC Premier League, said: “I love my darts and it is great to see Scott in the final.

“He has played superbly throughout the tournament and, hopefully, he can come out on top. I will certainly be keeping a close eye on it and will be cheering him on.

“A lot of the BDO players have done well and gone over to the PDC. Hopefully, one day, we might see him in the Premier League.

“Scott tweets me to congratulate us when we win and I tweet him about the darts. He seems a decent bloke and has worked very hard to be where he is. I really hope he is successful in the final.”
