ENGLAND under-20s boss Aidy Boothroyd said Baily Cargill had deserved to steal the headlines after scoring on his international debut against Canada.
Cherries defender Cargill nodded home a Matt Grimes corner four minutes from time before substitute Jordan Hamilton snatched a last-gasp 2-2 draw for the visitors at Dean Court.
Boothroyd, who is yet to taste defeat in five games as England under-20s boss, told the Daily Echo: “I thought he was excellent - he was one of our best players.
“He looked very assured. We want our centre-backs to be good on the ball and join in attacks and he didn’t waste any passes and he scored his goal, so it was almost the complete performance.
“He did really well to get his head on the ball and score and after that it should have been game over. There should have been headlines about him rather than the fact we drew.
“But overall, he can be really happy with his performance.
“People round here see a lot more of him than I do but I think that Bournemouth have got a really good young player in their ranks.
“I spoke to Eddie Howe at length about him and Eddie thinks he’s going to be one for the future for Bournemouth and I think he’s going to be one for the future for us as well.
“We’ve unearthed a player who we are really pleased with.”
