POOLE Pirates star Kyle Newman turned the clock back last Sunday when he returned to the motocross world after a long absence.
And the Wimborne Road flyer proved himself more than handy at Tincleton.
In a class of more than 30 riders, Newman was only bettered by one of his competitors on muddy and sandy terrain.
Accustomed to 60-second out¬ ings on shale, the 22-year-old took on 15-minute races which aver¬ aged around seven laps.
On a KTM 450 four-stroke machine, Newman finished sixth in moto one in the adult interme¬ diate class.
And in the next two outings the Poole charger snatched two superb wins to take overall sec¬ ond.
Hayling Island’s Victor Porrett triumphed overall on 129 points with Newman just behind on 125.
Newman said: “It was tough going but I had a fantastic day. I will have to come back again to help my fitness levels.”
