STRIKER Matt Tubbs hopes to mull over his long-term future at Christmas and admits he has no immediate plans to return to Cherries.

The 30-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to his season-long loan at AFC Wimbledon, notching nine goals in 14 appearances for the League Two outfit.

Cherries do have an option to recall Tubbs but the former Crawley Town and Rotherham United poacher acknowledges that any such move is unlikely with four first-team strikers – Callum Wilson, Yann Kermorgant, Tokelo Rantie and Brett Pitman – at boss Eddie Howe’s disposal.

Discussing his future with Get West London, Tubbs said: “I didn’t feature at all there last season and I’m obviously not in the manager’s plans this season. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.

“All I can keep doing is trying to do well for this club and push us towards the top of the table.

“I’m enjoying my football at the minute and anyone who’s enjoying their football is comfortable where they are.

“You take it as it comes. For me, it’s just a case of trying to keep fit and score as many goals as I can.

“It’s not for me to decide [the long-term future]. I’d like to have a few options.

“I’ve not got that yet. Come Christmas time, hopefully there will be some decisions to be made.”
