BOLTON manager Dougie Freedman this week remained defiant despite increased pressure on his position at the Reebok.

The Trotters are second-bottom of the Championship and have lost their last four games in all competitions, prompting speculation over the boss’s future.

During Wednesday’s 4-0 defeat at Fulham, fans held ‘Freedman out’ banners and called for the manager to be sacked on several occasions.

However, the former Scottish international was in bullish mood when asked if he had considered handing in his resignation.

“I don’t think that way at all,” Freedman told the Bolton News. “I’m working very hard to turn this round.

“I don’t think the players have chucked the towel in, I think they have shown a very good spirit and kept on going.

“It’s as simple as this, the errors that we keep on making are giving other teams confidence and energy to hang on to results when we open the game up.

“We do not do enough up top to get goals.”

Cherries have only met Bolton twice in the last two decades, with both of those matches taking place last season.

The most recent meeting between the sides saw Cherries fight back from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw at the Reebok in February.

Goals from Lewis Grabban and Simon Francis gave the visitors a point and the final whistle was greeted by boos from the home fans.
