A GLANCE at the matchday programme at Ewood Park was all Harry Arter needed to convince him that making the play-offs was realistic.

The Cherries star, serving the second of a three-game ban against Yeovil tomorrow (3.07pm), was part of the side that won 1-0 at Blackburn a month ago.

And Arter told the Daily Echo: “For me it turned when we played Blackburn when we were two points off them.

“In their programme notes all they were talking about was how they were aiming to get in the play-offs and how if they didn’t get there then it would be a failure.

“At the end of that night we ended up a point in front of them and that was when I started to believe.”

Cherries have been a covert entrant in the play-off race, only sneaking into contention following a superb run of form that started in March and continued into April.

Arter added: “Most seasons there is a team that sneaks into the play-offs when they hit a bit of good form.

"I don’t want to say that will be us but I’m sure in the back of everyone’s mind they are hoping that is the case.”
