Cherries: Mitchell to pursue Swindon over dugout damage

BROKEN: The away dugout following Saturday's match BROKEN: The away dugout following Saturday's match

CHAIRMAN Eddie Mitchell has confirmed Cherries will be asking Swindon Town officials to foot the bill for a damaged dugout at Dean Court.

A picture of the away dugout – taken by Swindon Advertiser sports writer Sam Morshead – was posted on social network site Twitter following Saturday’s 1-1 draw between Cherries and the Robins.

It showed an acrylic glass side panel had been smashed, with a number of Cherries supporters taking to Twitter to point the finger of blame at Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio.

The eccentric Italian showed his emotions publicly on a number of occasions during the game |and regularly made his feelings known to his assistant Fabrizio Piccareta.

However, the Swindon Advertiser understands the damage was caused, accidentally, by goalkeeping coach Domenico Doardo during the celebrations of Andy Williams’s late equaliser for the Robins.

Mitchell told the Daily Echo that Cherries would be pursuing the matter with the Wiltshire outfit and would ask them to stump up for the repairs if they had been responsible.

A similar incident two years ago saw goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who was playing for Notts County at the time, allegedly kick a dressing room door.

However, Schmeichel, the son of legendary Manchester United goalkeeper Peter, later denied he had deliberately damaged the door, claiming he had “pulled the door open, it was lighter than I thought and it opened with a bang”.

Cherries subsequently decided not to pursue the Magpies for repair costs.

Typical of all opposing fans to blame di Canio without even knowing what happenned so u suggest you lot of idiots who started blaming him on twitter get your facts right. As it is has been put in your report above it was accidently broken by our goalkeeping coach when we scored.

Also for all the other idiot cherry fans who said we were celebrating at the end of the game as though we had won the cup final we do that every game and Di Canio also goes on to the pitch to salute the fans. So again get you facts right.

As for Jimmy Quinn saying Howe is a better manager well Di Cabio has played against him three times

Won 2 of them and drew the other.

So Jimmy Quinn think again.

Seems some of you lot have ended up with egg on their faces again.

I'm sure STFC will replace that expensive perspex sheet - and send the local 'Bob the Builder ' to install it and return its to former glory -

Talk about a storm in a teacup Eh !!

Jimmy Quinn 'Think' LG - now there's a novelty..

Bournemouth Council have already quoted. It will cost £1.5m to dismantle and £2m to replace, but that is still cheaper than Seven Developments!!!!

Can't believe any fan would defend their coaching staff when they have quite obviously caused criminal damage, I don't accept for one second that it was an accident by the goalkeeping coach, all sounds a bit duff. Still we all had a laugh watching the clown on Saturday, enjoy him while you can he's off the second a bigger club comes a calling!! shame a couple of idiots have to spoil what was otherwise two good teams having a go, Howe is the better manager there is no doubting that either!!

You tried all the tricks in the book saturday Calamity wasting time, the ball boys not giving the ball back when it was our throw absolutley pathetic attempt when you were 1-0 up but we were always going to score as you were panicking at the back and De Vita was skinning your full back when he came on and on clear chances we should have won.

We had the larger percentage of possession and we were the away team. It was up to you as the home team to take the game to us but you failed.

Your manager behaves in this manner at every game in order to try and put the opposition off. Very embarrassing and very childish. He should have been removed from the dugout by the officials. What an idiot he is and then there is Eddie Howe, calm and controlled as well as a credit to AFCB and football as a whole. The match has finished now so please go and start posting your drivel on your next opponents newspaper. Unlike you we have a cup game to prepare for.

Leave the ball boys alone, they do not play any of your stupid games, like charlie says, it's history you should be thinking about your next game as we are. I see the work experience lad has been writing again.

Firstly, there's only one 'c' in acrylic.

Secondly, acrylic is acrylic, and glass is glass. The term 'acrylic glass', while popular, is about as accurate as saying something is wood metal!

How anyone could bust up the dugout by celebrating, is beyond me?

The problem there are alot of moronic fans in this country who get on the same old knocking Paolo band wagon. So just keep your feelings and stupid comments to yourself.
Paolo did not break the plastic either so before all you idiots point the finger get your facts right including you idiot chairman.
Accidents happen and no doubt we will pay you the couple of quid we owe you for the bit of plastic.
As for Di Canio having a stroke he is as fit as anything he plays football every week and looks after himself so again stop talking tripe.

Di Canio will manage in the premier league and Howe's level was the championship but struggled at best which is why he went back to your small club. Yes he's a good manager but for the lower leagues.
Mark my words Paolo will be in the premierl league in the near future.
Anyway thanks for the 4 points this season if we play each other next season try and bring more fans to our place seems your such a big club 750 is pretty pathetic and you couldnt even sell out saturday.
we would have double the crowd if you gave us more tickets but enjoy your game against Wigan who i predict will beat you.

Is this site just for 5 yr olds .

"My managers better than your manager"

"Our clubs bigger than your club "

" You broke my window"

From what I saw we were two pretty evenly matched clubs and that's the stats not my opinion.Same amount of shots on target, pretty close on attempts and very little on the possession %.

Two very different styles of manager , what makes one right and the other wrong.

At the end of the day both clubs having a good season , think a few fans need to have a reality check both clubs were in a dark place not that long ago.

Thats exactly right Steady - there's the difference we don't winge and cry when the flak comes back.

Stick and stones and all that, and all the attempts at personal jibes from some on here do little to bolster any discussion, or the perception people have of the writers.

LG stood his ground and countered any insults that were thrown at him with facts and whether those facts touched a few nerves seem to fuel further personal insults which does suggest there may have been some truth in his words.

We even had the 'Tripadvisor' line of how B'mouth is a nice place to live from individuals on here - my god what next , a lecture from Neighbourhood Watch !!

Any way - I understand they have strategically positioned life belts around the pitch side tonight. and Poole Wavy Navy are on standby.

Just a bit of 'light hearted banter' without the personal insults - in any ones world is far better and more grown up..
