CHRISTCHURCH prospect Harry Cornick came off the bench to score as Cherries thumped Bristol Rovers 4-1 in a friendly at Goldsands Stadium this afternoon.

Teenage winger Cornick, who is training with Eddie Howe's squad this week, slotted home Cherries' second goal late in the second half as a strong side eased past a Rovers XI.

Dutchman Frank Demouge tapped home from close range just before half-time to hand Cherries the lead, before Brett Pitman's penalty five minutes after the restart was saved.

Cornick, though, on for Steve Cook, blasted home on 72 minutes to double Cherries' advantage.

Jordan Chiedozie made it 3-0 nine minutes from time, before Rovers pulled a goal back through Elliot Richards.

But Lorenzo Davids was on hand to add Cherries' fourth deep into second-half stoppage time following good work from Demouge.
