Cherries: Thomas completes Blackpool loan switch and Molesley joins Plymouth

BLACKPOOL have completed the loan signing of Cherries star Wes Thomas.

The 25-year-old striker was last week understood to have handed in a transfer request and has now linked up with the Championship outfit until January 1.

Tangerines boss Michael Appleton is a known admirer of Thomas after the former Crawley Town man's successful loan spell at Portsmouth earlier this season.

Thomas notched three goals in seven games at Fratton Park under Appleton, before the Lancastrian replaced Ian Holloway as Blackpool manager earlier this month.

Mark Molesley, meanwhile, has joined League Two side Plymouth on a month-long loan deal, which could be extended.

Cherries youngster Josh Wakefield has also moved on loan to League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge.

Good Luck to all 3, it will be interesting to see how Wes gets on in the Championship. If he scores loads perhaps the price will go up, although if a transfer is in the offing, no doubt a fee has already been agreed...

Interesting move for thomas but i think he will struggle.
Still cant understand why eddie howe brought him back from portsmouth but has only played 10 minutes for us, i think he need more of a chance. I think send back barnard and release demouge and then we have a great strikeforce. Would be nice to see charlie sheringhaam when hes back, thought he was a promising player!

Howe brought Thomas back from Portsmouth, as he didn't want him freely scoring for a rival team.

Good luck to Thomas. Personally I would keep him at AFCB more than I would Tubbs (my views on him are well documented). Tubbs is a reasonable player but not League One material i believe.
.
Yes Tubbs did bail us out on Tuesday, but i cannot help that we will more than likely get more goals out of Thomas than we will Tubbs.

Mike Oxbig is absolutely right with his comments. I thought it was a clever move to bring Thomas back in particular as I dont think that Portsmouth won a game immediately following his return. I also think that Thomas could have played a big part for AFC but if it is true that he handed in a transfer request (probably at the instigation of Mr Appleton!) then that also demonstrates the strength of our own management to get rid if someone is not prepared to pledge loyalty and work for the right to play!

We have far better players here than Thomas, and glad that he has gone, but there was no way that we could keep him at pompey if it meant that they were staying above us in the table !!!!! A no brainer !!!!

Yeah let's keep a forward that has really struggled to score goals and misses chance after chance and get rid of a player that even though not had a decent run in the side still comes of the bench to get a few and bail us out, perfect sense that

It was inevitable that certain players would be moving on. Eddie Howe will clear the rest of the dead wood out in January and probably bring another couple of players in to see us up into the Championship.
Good luck to those who have gone out on loan but I don't expect Thomas or Molesley to be back.
Can't wait to see Brett back in a Bournemouth shirt although I'm not sure who's place he will take. Probably McQuoid. Possibly Barnard who may now think he's off back to Stains in January.

Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of wes, I have said on here before that he has all the qualities of a number 9, he is quick, strong, good in the air, extremely hard working, holds the ball up, Unfortunatly sticking the ball in the net ain't exactly his strong point. Just like defenders making mistakes can lead to goals constantly missing easy chances ( particularly one on ones ) lose points. Sometimes players just can't do it at certain teams, I really hope he does well at Blackpool cos I love to see a honest player that gives his all and doesn't hide when things aren't going for him.

Wes couldnt hit a barn door at 20 yards and I for one lost faith in him a long time ago if Appleton wants him then sell him on cos he don't fit into our howe team. Move on..............

I cant understand why people go on about Sheringham. I saw him crash down at Brentford last year and he has being injuried since.
Pay him off . Its only the team that needs on but also some of the supporters

It will be interesting to see if Wes gets played in the championship and if he gets goals, not convinced. Mosely, good luck, Bournemouth has moved on in the pace and style of football played and I don't see how he fits in the team anymore. Up the cherries!

I too was at Brentford, and i thought Sherringham was sharp and hungry and took his goal well, and was looking the part. So hope he does get a chance when fit just to show EH, just what he can do.

I think Tubbs will come good given he chance, I would like to know the AFCB goal per minutes stats. He can't play along side Grabbon that's the issue here, I don rate Gabbon my self, but every one to their own. If we had another young Fletcher then Tubbs would be in the starting 11 every time

We didnt give Thomas a chance after promising that he would get one,and then allow spoilt child appleton another chance to sign him? crazy in my opinion

That was because EH knew that Thomas is not good enough with the squad we now have and it was a no brainer that he had to come back from a team that play in our league !!!

Clearly you don't go to every game do you? Thomas couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. It was right for him to move on loan then and is now. Tubbs is gaining in confidence game by game and knows where the goal is. He completely changed the game Tues night when he came on. A natural goal scorer in any league just like Charlie Austyn has been. Pitman and Tubbs is the way fwd which I suspect Eddie is now leaning twds.

so who would you drop to keep barnard in the team? Grabbon? Pitman? Tubbs has scored in most games he has played in (when given more than 20 minutes) Maybe we should just leave it to Eddie and Jason they seem to know what they are doing!

Thomas stated that he wanted to stay & fight for his place. First oppertunity he gets & he slaps in a transfer request, good riddance to yesterdays man i say. He clearly has a higher oppinion of himself than Eddie has of him, i know whose judgement im backing.

Must be some reverse logic here surely Pompey arnt promotion rivals any points they take off our real rivals would only help.More likely Appleton didnt want him left on loan at Pompey so he could take him to Blackpool hence the Eddie Howe rant when we took him back. Any spare players lend them to Pompey

To be fair to Thomas (a decent player in my opinion) he was doing fine for us until dumb and dumber got their hands on him and knocked every ounce of confidence out of him overnight. Good luck Wes.

He knocked his own confidence by missing 2 yard sitters !!! Good riddence i say as we have far better strikers at this club which some people just can't grasp.

Agree completely. I remember watching him in the warm up at the Pompey game-he failed to hit the net in 15 mins worth of practice. You'd expect him to put it past the keeper once or twice at least. Early in that game he was clean through - what did he do? POST. I suppose he did well to hit that. A powerful athletic guy who causes defences problems with his non stop hassling but a goal scorer no. If he goes on to score a few in the championship I'll eat my words but I think it's safe to say he won't.

In Ed we trust. The man is a legend.
