The remaining four matches also resulted in away wins. Southbourne slipped out of the top three after losing out to Broadstone 5-1 (43-27), with Ros Valentine, Janet Harford, Sibil Ball and Anne Williams pounding the Tower Ladies 25-9. Jan Dearling’s rink (18-18) denied Broadstone the six points, however.
Redhill Park’s first success of the season came at Poole Park 6-0 (47-27). Redhill’s best, Barbara Bell, Linda Hyde, Pauline Wiseman and Pat Horgan (25-11) were backed up by Ethel Hanlon’s quartet (22-16).
New Milton could not buck the trend, losing to Richmond Park, with Sylvia Postill, Monica Niemier, Lynda Gorf and Eileen Deadman (30-16) more than matching the 20-11 by New Milton’s winning skip Sheila Nicoll.

WEST Moors’ winning rink of Ann Savage, Sandra Rhodes, Pat Chance and Olive Freeman (21-12) proved decisive in a 4-2 (35-30) victory over Argyll, for whom Norma Richens’s squad (18-14) put up a spirited reply.
Ferndown, Brockenhurst and Broadstone all managed 6-0 home wins. Brockenhurst led the way, giving Pelhams a 60-22 pasting, thanks to Dorothy Bond (42-6) who combined with Jean Lees’s rink (18-16) to pulverise the opposition.
Broadstone amassed 51 shots, but Braeside managed to get close, eventually going down 51-44. Broadstone skips Jean Ames (27-23) and Sheila Thomson (24-21) worked in tandem for the double-rink victory.
