BFA Sunday cups: Dan delivers knockout performance

DAN Manuel was the five-goal star when Premier Division heavyweights Branksome Railway floored Kavell 12-1 in the second round of the Mark Hart Sunday Senior Cup with Sam Purdy (2), Jack Bath, Tom Willis, Dan Blackburn, Colin Dand and Wayne Smith also on target.

Although Lee Clark and Garry Hepple struck for Christchurch Royals, rivals Priory Quays bundled them out 6-2 with goals from Dan Freeborn (2), Ryan O’Reilly, Dan Whitthorn, Ollie Peckham and Jason Morgan.

Shoulder of Mutton United also progressed after Richie Sands (2), Sam Goodwin and Alan Marsh ensured a 4-1 victory over Harry’s Bar.

Chris Thompson struck twice for Division Three Verwood SSC in the third round of the MA Hart Robbins Cup but top-flight giants East Christchurch SSC proved too strong for them and ran out 5-2 winners through Alex Rossi (2), Alan Etherton, Mitch East and Sam Kennedy.

Mehmet Hatipoglu (2) and Serdal Yildirim gave Tavla Sport a 3-1 success against Scott V, while Springers were also 3-1 winners when Jamie Beale, Ben Harding and Rico Wilson put paid to DH Britannia.

Ben Harrison (2) and Chris Harrison were the AFC Burton marksmen in their MA Hart In-Excess Cup second round success against Boscombe Celtic.

Charlie Foreman led the way with a hat-trick when Townsend tanned Boscombe Albion 6-2 in the third round of the MA Hart Lawrence A Brivati Cup.

Chris Hayward and Matt Townsend bagged two apiece in Harbourside’s 5-1 victory over Broadstone Con, while, in the second round, Shoulder of Mutton reserves enjoyed a 5-1 win with goals from Terry Foote, Shaun Stevenson, Chris Gallop, Leighton Clarke and Lee Mansi ousting A & T.

Matt Cole and Tom Cranmer gave Alderholt a 3-0 win over JP Morgan in the second round of the MA Hart Nicholas Read Cup, while Ashley Green (2), Danny Small and Steve Blyth ensured a 4-1 win for Electric reserves against Tower Park.

Kinson Con booked their place in the next round after Shane Varley, Trevor Fisher, Jamie Lever, Karl Alexander and Matt Singleton gave them a 5-1 majority over ECP.
