Second successive defeat for Rec


HAYWARD Premier Division leaders Hamworthy Recreation suffered a second successive defeat when Jon Cook clinched a shock 1-0 win for relegation-threatened Parley Sports.

Kane Daysh netted for Electric, but the reigning champions also came away empty-handed when Dan Webb scored his second goal of the game courtesy of a last-minute penalty to give second-placed Old Oakmeadians the edge 2-1.

Westover Bournemouth are back in the hunt after crushing Dorset Knob 9-1 to go past them into fourth place.

Dale Walters was the five-goal star for Westover with Ed Ewens (2), Dominic Parnell and Simon Atkins also on target, while Curtis McAlinney scored Dorset Knob’s consolation goal.

David Hatch and Ben Read struck for Redlynch & Woodfalls United, but they were denied a point when Pennington St Marks snatched a last-minute winner to shade it 3-2 thanks to Adam Lavis (pen), Paul Sims and Tom Bowles.

Verwood Town remain anchored to the bottom despite Liam Morrison’s penalty earning them a 1-1 draw with Mudeford Men’s Club.

• Portcastrian opened up a seven-point lead at the top of Division One after Lewis Dear, Rob Woolner and John Winn gave them a 3-0 victory over nearest rivals Bournemouth Electric reserves.

St Mary's netted through Ali Paton, Ben Corbin and an own goal, but Harrington United had the upper hand 5-3 thanks to a Rob Scaddings hat-trick and further goals from Den Mowlam and James Rowley.

Alderholt were 3-1 winners against bottom-placed AFC Highcliffe who replied through Darren Britton, while Jamie Ravelin settled the issue 1-0 for Trinidad against Fordingbridge Turks.

• Tuakana are six points clear in Division Two after Dominic Taylor and Keith Williams gave them a 2-0 success in their top-of-the-table clash with local rivals New Milton Linnets.

Twynham Rangers take over from Linnets in second place after their 5-0 triumph over JP Morgan courtesy of a Chris Forbes hat-trick and further goals from Kevin Brennan and Paul Brandreth.

Bisterne United remain in the frame with Ali Wiseman scoring both goals in their 2-0 win over Suttoners Civil reserves.

• Fencing Centre remain just one point clear at the top of Division Three after Ryan Sheppard steered them to a 1-0 win over promotion rivals AFC Burton.

Matty Scrimshaw (2), Wayne Evans and Darren Spiers gave second-placed Suttoners Civil A the edge 4-3 against Seabournes, who replied with second-half goals from Tom Clarke (2) and Brett McEwan.

Adam Janes scored both goals in Queens Park Athletic’s 2-0 success against Stourvale while Cherry Bees stung Redlynch & Woodfalls United reserves 5-0 with goals from Kelly Barth (2), Chris Moulder (2), and Tom Kellaway.

• Second-placed New Milton Eagles returned to winning ways in Division Four when Shahed Miah (pen), Robbie Haines and Gary Bokota accounted for Bournemouth UST 3-1.

Burley take over from Albany Athletic in third place after upending Thursday night’s MA Hart Hayward Cup winners 2-0 with goals from Phil Matthews and Gavin Jenkins.

Dan Pringle and Lee Fisher gave Magpies a 2-1 success against AFC West Moors, while FC Athletico trounced Shamrock 10-0 with Chris Hardy, Chris Biddle, Andy Sinclair and Steve Clark getting two apiece, with Robbie Agidbahyan and Patrick Bedford completing the rout.

• Jamie Clark struck for AFC Pennington but the Division Five pacesetters are in danger of seeing the title slip from their grasp after they went down 3-1 to Screw-It Carpentry.

Bisterne Rangers move ominously into second place with a convincing 6-0 triumph over Bransgore United with goals from Sam Hills (2), Scott Curtis (2), Luke Walker and Nick Reynolds.

Paul Conroy, Jason Lock and Sam Taylor netted for Bournemouth A, but Ross Dominey’s 85th minute winner gave Little Brit Inn the verdict 4-3.

Simon Pike, Mike Hicks and Brad Hicks were the other Little Brit Inn marksmen.

• AFC Bransgore go second in Division Six after Charlie Field and Kristian Locke put paid to Alderholt reserves 2-0.
