BFA teams to battle in cup final

THE Hampshire Junior B Cup will be won by a team from the Hayward League this season after the two BDFA participants were successful in their respective semi-finals.

Unbeaten Division Six title contenders Bluewood Athletic brushed aside Fareham Park Rangers 4-0 with goals from Jack Foster (2), Mark Wheeler and Gary Clarie, while, in the other semi-final, AFC Ringwood just got the better of Bentley 2-1 thanks to Robert Stephenson and William Lowth.

• Ashley Nash netted for Christchurch Royals, but they crashed to a 4-1 defeat against Basingstoke Royals in their Hampshire Junior A Cup semi-final.

• Division Eight high-fliers Rockbourne are through to the final of the Hampshire Junior C Cup after Simon Colborne, Jason Smith and Darren Gale gave them the verdict 3-2 in their semi-final with Lord Chichester.

Last season’s Mark Hart Sunday Senior Cup finalists Bournemouth Sports have an opportunity to make amends for their extra-time defeat after Simon Croydon steered them to a 1-0 semi-final victory over TX United.

Their opponents in the Hurn Bridge final will be Foresters Arms who were 4-1 winners against New Milton Town. Foresters had a commanding four-goal lead thanks to Elliot Boylan (2), David Foster and an own goal, before New Milton pulled one back through Matt Molloy.

• Joe Kittle nabbed a hat-trick in Bournemouth Electric’s 6-1 MA Hart Robbins Cup fifth-round triumph over Queens Park Rovers. Dan Pidgley, Scott Sanderson and Dan Baguley were the other Electric marksmen, with Matt Blake providing some consolation for QPR.

• Matt Huckle netted for Tudor Rose in their MA Hart Lawrence A Brivati Cup semi-final, but Division Four front-runners Shoulder of Mutton went through to the final after Jamie Moores (2) and Tom Hall gave them the upper hand 3-1.
