VIENNA Windows gave themselves a massive boost ahead of Thursday night’s MA Hart Hayward Cup final showdown with Albany Athletic at Hurn Bridge (7.30pm) when they reached the final of the Hampshire Junior B Cup.
Rob Pyle, Tony West, Matt Biddle and Ben Sainsbury netted for the Division Six championship contenders as they swept aside Gentleman Jim 4-1 in a hard-fought semi-final.
Vienna are still in the MA Hart Pickford Cup and have a huge backlog of league fixtures to get through, but also have Thursday’s Holmwood Will Writing-sponsored final against Albany to concentrate on.
nWestover Bournemouth Reserves reached the final of the MA Hart Page Croft Cup after substitute Steve Wallace’s extra-time winner gave them the verdict 3-2 over New Milton Linnets.
Mike Edwards gave Westover an early lead, but Linnets hit back with second-half strikes from Danny Light and Ross Grierson.
Westover equalised through Gary Millar, though, to force extra-time and Wallace’s winner set up a meeting with old rivals Suttoners Civil Reserves in the final.
• Pennington St Marks are through to the semi-finals of the MA Hart Poole Bay Challenge Cup after Paul Sims and Danny Veal gave them the edge 2-1 against Premier Division rivals Mudeford Men’s Club.
