  • Sturminster Newton's William Fox-Pitt is gunning for Dorset's first gold medal of the Games today. The three-day eventer is part of the Great Britain squad aiming to secure Team Eventing gold and they are nicely placed in the silver medal position ahead of the showjumping today.
  • Elsewhere, Poole's Dan Hunter will be looking to follow in the footsteps of former Wessex team-mate Lucy Wicks when Team GB's volleyball men clash with Australia at 8pm. Wicks and the women secured the nation's first ever Olympic volleyball win by beating Algeria in the early hours of this morning.
  • Sailors Lucy Macgregor, Annie Lush and Kate Macgregor go in the fifth and sixth races of the Elliot 6m class, while Sherborne's Andrew Simpson (Star) and Lymington's Ben Ainslie (Finn) are involved in races five and six of their classes down in Weymouth.
  • In handball, Bournemouth's John Pearce and Sway's Dan McMillan are with Team GB as they prepare to take on Sweden in the Copper Box at 2.30pm.
  • And in beach volleyball, Poole's Zara Dampney and team-mate Shauna Mullin will be looking to build on Sunday's maiden win over Canada when they take on Italy at 5.30pm on Horse Guards Parade.
